Expand your baby’s mind with classical music!

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time looking for ways to expand the minds of children and babies. I’d like to share a 2 hour video of Mozart for babies, which I know will be just as wonderful for anyone to listen to in addition to all of the babies out there! They actually recommend this for helping babies go to sleep, but I think it is also very calming in general. Please check out Two hours of Mozart for babies, which can be downloaded by clicking the link in the video for only 99 cents. There are also videos for other classical music by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. Music is such a wonderful way to awaken the mind, so awaken yours, and your babies minds! I’m investigating and researching methods of learning to read, and have had a few ideas of my own about early reading skills, and I will post on that soon. In actuality, I’m learning new reading skills for myself as well. I’d love to hear any ideas or suggestions you might have, as well as any questions you’d like answered about reading skills for our young ones. Please post a comment in either case. Here’s to our babes’ wonderful minds…

Mindfulness for children of all ages

I am a HUGE fan of mindfulness, and especially for all kids. Mindfulness is purposely being aware, in the present, without judgement, cultivating aliveness and connection to all experiences, people, events, circumstances and ourselves. It encompasses all aspects of our “be”-ing. I truly believe it is one of the necessary skills a child should learn by example and practice enabling them to create their own wonderful life. After visiting my grandchildren yesterday, I was inspired to find something for them, and for all children. I searched for a video children can use a tool, giving them information, giving them the “what and how” of mindfulness in brief, but very impactful at the same time. I found this video , Mindfulness In Action, by Sherry-Lynne Kirschner , which actually brought tears to my eyes. It may not create tears for you, but just seeing how children learning mindfulness can make their lives so much more joyful, is amazing. View Mindfulness in Action, and Let your children view this video often to give them a taste of what mindfulness is and how it can help them. I hope you, and all of your children of all ages, enjoy and learn from this video. There is a plethora of additional information available about mindfulness online and offline, so don’t hesitate to find our more, or contact me if you like with your questions. Your comments/likes/sharing of this blog post, and subscribing to my blog, are super-appreciated!To all of the children: I love you and want to help you all become wonderful creators!

How your young child can deal with their negative emotions

Parents, caregivers, teachers, counselors, etc. struggle to find ways to help young children deal with their negative emotions. Today I am sharing some fairly unknown information that I have found to be extremely helpful for you and your young children in dealing with unhappy or negative feelings.  I also am sharing a helpful link which relates to the rights of parents regarding labeling children, and the more prevalent prescribing and use of psychotropic drugs with children/kids.  Schools have become more aggressive in labeling children, which is resulting in more frequent drug use through referral of these labeled kids for intense testing and to doctors and therapists for treatment.

I offered similar information in one of my Facebook comments yesterday.  A post by Natural Parents Network was inviting other NPN followers to offer help to a parent who is having issues with her child in school, and regarding drugs prescribed to her child.  You can read details by going directly to the NPN post.

Here is the information I offered:

EFT (Emotional Field Therapy) EFT is a great, free, easy-to-learn treatment that you and your young children can learn to do to help modify negative emotions of any kind, in addition to helping subdue and heal physical pain and ailments. EFT can be done by both children and adults.  The EFT technique uses tapping on energy meridian points (similar to acupuncture, but with no needles).  EFT tapping helps to eliminate disruption in your body’s energy circuits, and those disruptions of energy create negative emotions and physical imbalance as well.  Think of it as when your car is not running on all of its cylinders or misfiring, and therefore the car runs very poorly, wastes gas, etc.  Your body’s energy system misfires as well, and EFT will bring back smooth flow and balance of your energy system.  EFT practitioners can help with this, but you can also learn to do it yourself, and so can your kids.  Here is a video just for kids “tapping”, from Karin Davidson, that will give you a better understanding of this useful technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1efrIBI9BY

The coolest thing is, once this simple technique is learned, a young child can even go through the tapping sequence in their head, not even actually physically tapping or speaking aloud, and it has the same effect. So if they are around other people, they can visualize the tapping in their head, without anyone else being aware of it, eliminating any embarrassment.  EFT is for everyone, as we all have negative emotions, fears, stress, sadness, anger, anxiousness, etc. at some point. I HIGHLY recommend EFT for everyone. It has been found that this technique works whether you believe it will, or not, so it is definitely worth while to try out.  It can be used anytime and even can make falling asleep easier.

Here are a couple of other children tapping(EFT) videos Karin Davidson has:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHnhOEEa2BQ  This is an amazing video from an elementary school teacher and offers detail on how he uses EFT in his classrooms.  It is a wonderful way to treat bullying, amongst other school and social situations that young children’s feelings and emotions can create.

With regard to psychotropic drugs being prescribed to young children, I suggest everyone check out Ablechild: a 501(c)3 non profit, is nationally recognized as a parent’s rights organization dedicated to protecting children and families by ensuring parents are fully informed about the improper labeling of children with ADHD, the dangers of psychotropic drugs and the right to refuse psychiatric services. Ablechild educates parents on the risks associated with drugging children and promotes a label and drug free education in our schools.

I hope these suggestions help and I encourage anyone to offer comments about these children’s issues or about EFT or Ablechild by clicking here: “Leave a Comment”. I invite you to subscribe to my blog as well.

Kids growing up made easy

I want to share why I started writing books, and why I started Kids On Autopilot. When I was growing up, there were a multitude of situations, events and circumstances that I faced continuously, as I am sure you all experienced as well. For me, there was no backbone of my being, and there was no solid positive feeling(belief) in my heart about life, about people, about events and circumstancess that happened. It seemed everything just came along, and I just had to figure it all out as each new experiences occurred, based on the beliefs I formed while very young. Yes, I had wonderful parents there to guide me along; they did the best they could. My siblings and I were very loved. I was never abused. In general though, looking back, much of my childhood I viewed as a struggle. Growing up was not easy. Many things happened that I wasn’t prepared to “deal” with, things that resulted in me reinforcing ill feelings and beliefs about myself and others. I went into adulthood continuing with all of those subconscious feelings and beliefs. I constantly worried about being accepted, being judged, not believing or knowing my own ability to create a life I wanted. I married and had three children of my own.

As many other parents, I then went through the process of raising my own children, still without that backbone, without a knowing in my heart about myself and my life. Still, my children got through it, with me doing the best I knew of for them. Over time, my marriage disintegrated, and ended, and I continued with those same subconscious self-defeating beliefs and feelings in my heart, but I was yearning for much more out of my life. I had no idea at the time, that I was creating the life I had based on the subconscious beliefs I formed at a very early age. I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

In the past several years, I’ve experienced a huge change in myself. I’ve been learning and seeing how self-defeating my actions have been for the most part all along, from the time I was just a little kid. What I’ve discovered, has caused me to finally start creating my own life as I want it, to finally start “being” who I truly want to be, to work on eliminating all of the negative, self-defeating beliefs and feelings in my heart, replacing them with new neuropathways and beliefs. This is still a work in progress, and will be for the rest of my life. Finally, though, I am enjoying the journey, as much as the attainment and realization of my dreams. I will be 60 years old this year. Wow! What a long journey to get where I am today!

All of this change has come to me over the past several years at an astounding rate, and I began to think about how much easier it would have been if I had been exposed to and absorbed much of the inner, heart-based beliefs and feelings, the sense of “knowing” in my heart what I know now, if that had been part of me from the very early years in my life, how much differently my life would have played out, how much differently I would have “dealt” with my experiences, what a joyful journey it would have been from the beginning.

As I’ve said, my parents did the best they could, and I did the best I could with my own children. I determined that for the most part, we all do.

One day, I was driving around doing errands, shopping and such, and my mind was racing, as it often does while I’m driving, and I was going over in my head, “Just why does the world have to be so difficult for people to manage and why wasn’t it easy for me to grow up?” Then it struck me, my aha moment! I said out loud, “Children’s Books!” and from there my vision was born. I decided that the best way to change the world for all, was to begin with the kids, the younger ones, giving them knowledge about life, about themselves, about the world they exist in, things that will allow them to have wonderful, joyful journeys through life by their own heart-knowing creation, automatically.

And so, here I am, going with the purpose I have found to help make this a better world for ourselves, our children, and for all future generations of kids, to enable our kids, to be kids growing up easy. My children’s books, and my website, will be my contribution to the universe, of expanding heartfelt knowing by sharing what I now KNOW, and what I’d like all kids to know from very early in their lives. These things I want to share are foundational knowledge that kids need to become their own creators, automatically, and to enjoy the journey all along the way.

This is now my passion, and I hope that all who are exposed to my children’s books and Kids On Autopilot, will bring these children’s books into their lives and kids lives, creating little ripples that grow and grow until there is a wave, and each wave creates new ripples and new waves, and begins a tidal wave of change I’d like to see. I hope you will join me and enjoy your journey!

Tell me what you need to help your young children

Ok, now that Kids On Autopilot is live: What I would like is for anyone who would like to know more about helping our children to become wonderful creators of their life experience, to tell me specifically what you need to know as a parent, caregiver, educator, etc. What problems or issues do you face? What seems to be missing for you or your children? What would you like to see as far as content on Kids On Autopilot? The more I know what you need, the better I can create content that fits those needs.

Also, if you happen upon this website, and you would like to offer information that you have, or have found, please share it with me, and I will post anything relevant to the purpose of this site.

Please comment!

Thank you, one and all!
